Colour: Narrow, pale yellowish-brown sapwood. The heartwood is dark golden-yellow darkening to brown or dark brown on exposure to seasonal change. Teak sometimes figured with dark markings.
Wide range of colours when fresh cut, from pale yellows to orange browns with darker striping.
Colour Change: Extreme degree of colour change over time. Substantial muting of initial colour range occurs.
Hardness and Stability:Very highly durable wood. High resistance to attack by termites and other wood boring insects. Teak timber is said to be resistant to water and many chemical reagents, including acids.
Installation: Secret nail or stick down.
