V4 Wood Flooring

What You Are Paying For

V4 sits at the upper end of what we sell, and the difference is in three things rather than in branding.

Colour consistency across a collection

Each V4 collection is sorted and finished so that boards from different packs match. On a large floor — an open-plan ground floor, a whole flat — that is what stops the room looking patchy where one pack ends and the next begins.

Finish quality

Brushed surfaces and factory-applied finishes, usually hardwax oil or a matt lacquer cured under UV. A UV-cured finish is harder than anything applied on site, which is what keeps the surface looking new in a hallway.

Wear layer

V4 boards carry a genuine oak wear layer thick enough to be sanded and refinished, which is what separates a floor you keep from a floor you replace. If you are comparing brands, that figure in millimetres is the number to ask for — our page on engineered wood flooring explains why it matters more than the price per square metre.
