Why These Floors Are Cheaper

Nothing on this page is seconds or damaged stock. Floors end up here for three ordinary reasons.

A colour is being discontinued

Ranges get refreshed every couple of years. When a colour is dropped, what is left in the warehouse is sold off — the boards are exactly the same as they were the month before.

A batch is left over from a large order

A contract job orders 15% extra for waste and often uses less. The surplus is good material with nowhere to go.

The quantity is too small to list as a range

Forty square metres of one floor is not enough to keep in the main catalogue, but it is plenty for a room or a hallway.

The One Catch: Measure First

Clearance quantities are finite and they are not restocked. If you run short halfway through a room, there is usually no more of that floor anywhere — and a close match from another batch will not look like a match once it is down.

So do it in this order: measure the rooms, add 5–7% for a plank floor or 10–15% for herringbone, check with us that the quantity is there, and order the whole floor in one go. It takes an extra phone call and it removes the only real risk of buying from a clearance list.
